Colon Hydrotherapy and GLP-1 Medications in Orem, UT

Taking a GLP-1 medication and wondering whether colonics belong in your wellness routine? At Whole Body Cleansing & Wellness, we can explain the appointment experience and help you identify questions to discuss with your prescribing provider before booking.

Understanding GLP-1 Digestive Changes

GLP-1–based medications such as Wegovy® and Zepbound® can slow stomach emptying. Constipation, nausea, and bloating are among their reported side effects. These symptoms deserve attention from your prescribing provider—not an assumption that your body needs a cleanse.

Your provider can help you review eating habits, hydration, activity, and appropriate constipation treatments. Do not change your medication or dosage without their guidance.

What to Know Before Scheduling

Speak with your healthcare provider before considering a colonic, especially if you have digestive, kidney, or heart conditions. Colon cleansing carries risks, including dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, infection, and bowel injury. Share your medications and relevant health history before any appointment.

Seek prompt medical care for constipation accompanied by persistent abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in your stool, or an inability to pass gas. Do not wait for a wellness appointment to address these symptoms.

Can Colonics Help With GLP-1 Constipation?

Clinical evidence supporting colonic irrigation is limited. It should not be considered a proven treatment for GLP-1-related constipation or a replacement for your prescriber’s treatment plan. Irrigating the colon is also different from addressing delayed emptying of the stomach.
