Feeling Sluggish on Your GLP-1 Journey? Here’s How to Approach Your Next Step

If you’re taking Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or another GLP-1-based medication, you may be noticing changes beyond the number on the scale. These medications can slow stomach emptying, and constipation, bloating, and fatigue can occur during treatment. That heavy, slowed-down feeling can make it harder to enjoy the progress you’re making.

The good news? You don’t have to keep your concerns to yourself. Start by speaking with your prescribing clinician about symptoms that bother you or don’t go away. Separately, you can explore which wellness and aesthetic services fit your personal goals.

At Whole Body Cleansing & Wellness in Orem, we’re here to explain your options, answer questions, and help you understand what to expect before booking.

Step 1: Start With Your Digestive Concerns

When you feel bloated or backed up, it’s understandable to want relief. But medication-related constipation deserves guidance from your prescribing clinician rather than an automatic recommendation for a cleanse.

Our colon hydrotherapy sessions use the LIBBE open system and filtered water to flush the large intestine. Before booking, discuss the procedure with your healthcare professional, particularly if you take prescription medications or have an existing digestive condition.

Colon hydrotherapy should not replace medical care for constipation or slowed digestion. Evidence supporting colon cleansing for general health is limited, and risks include dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, infection, and bowel injury.

Before your visit: Bring your medication list and any relevant guidance from your prescribing clinician so you can discuss safety and suitability.

Step 2: Ask About Lymphatic Drainage—and Check Unexplained Swelling First

Feeling puffy is different from feeling bloated. New or unexplained swelling in your face, hands, or legs should be discussed with your healthcare professional rather than assumed to be a normal part of taking a GLP-1 medication. Swelling can have several causes, and the right approach depends on what’s causing it.

Our lymphatic drainage therapy uses Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy, also called L.E.T. or electro-lymphatic drainage. This is a device-assisted service that differs from traditional manual lymphatic massage.

During a consultation, ask how the session works, what its limitations are, and whether it is appropriate for your health history. There’s no need to automatically combine services simply because you’re experiencing more than one concern.

Step 3: Learn What a HOCATT Session Involves

Curious about HOCATT ozone sauna therapy? This service combines sauna heat, ozone, and other modalities in a cabinet-style session with your head outside the chamber. Our team can explain the process and discuss safety considerations before you decide whether to book.

Think of this as a separate wellness-service decision—not a treatment for medication-related fatigue. If you’re tired all the time, especially alongside ongoing nausea, vomiting, or difficulty staying hydrated, contact your prescribing clinician rather than relying on an “energy reset.” Persistent gastrointestinal symptoms can contribute to dehydration and require medical attention.

Step 4: Build a Plan Around You, Not a Fixed Schedule

Taking an ongoing medication doesn’t automatically mean you need ongoing spa treatments. Your personal goals, health history, and healthcare professional’s guidance should come before a package or recurring appointment schedule.

For clients who choose elective wellness or aesthetic services, we offer individual sessions and packages. Before committing, discuss what each service involves, realistic expectations, and the total cost.

You don’t have to try everything at once. Start with questions, understand your options, and choose the services that make sense for you.

Bonus #1: Endermologie for Skin Texture and the Appearance of Cellulite

As your body changes, you may find yourself paying more attention to skin texture, cellulite, or areas that look different than they did before.

Our Endermologie treatments use mechanical massage with rollers and suction. Mechanical massage may temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite, but it does not remove excess skin or guarantee skin tightening after significant weight loss. Results can vary, and cosmetic improvements may require maintenance.

During your consultation, tell us which areas concern you and what you hope to achieve. We’ll discuss what the service involves so you can decide whether it matches your expectations.

Keep the goal realistic: Improving the appearance of cellulite is different from removing loose skin or producing additional weight loss.

Bonus #2: Noticing Hair Changes? Start the Conversation Early

If you’re noticing more hair in your brush or a change in fullness as the weight comes off, you don’t have to wait until your other concerns feel resolved to ask about it.

Significant weight loss can trigger temporary hair shedding, known as telogen effluvium. However, not every case of thinning has the same cause. A dermatologist can help distinguish temporary shedding from other forms of hair loss and determine whether treatment is needed.

At Whole Body Cleansing, we offer non-surgical hair restoration treatments, including ultrasound-based TED treatments. After having new or unexplained shedding evaluated, a consultation gives you an opportunity to learn about our program, ask about suitability, and discuss realistic expectations.

The goal is to understand your hair changes first—not assume that every change requires a treatment package.

Ready to Talk About Your Next Step?

Whether you’re just starting your GLP-1 journey or several months in, you deserve clear answers about the services you’re considering.

At Whole Body Cleansing & Wellness in Orem, we welcome questions about colon hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, HOCATT, Endermologie, and hair restoration. Tell us what you’re interested in, share any relevant guidance from your healthcare professional, and let’s discuss your options.

Contact us today to request a consultation or call 801-427-1049. Start with a conversation—not a commitment to a full series of treatments.

Our wellness and aesthetic services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Consult your prescribing clinician about medication side effects and before pursuing services that may affect your health. Severe or persistent abdominal pain or ongoing vomiting requires prompt medical attention rather than a wellness appointment. Individual results vary.
